It is generally accepted that in the early days, when Christianity was new, and the church was just beginning to be built, God used miracles like those of healing to build faith. A lot has been said about faith healing and miraculous healings in these latter days. But the common denominator in all of these miracles lies in that one word. Faith.
Prophet Bruce Edwards the leader of Kingdom Empowerment Church (KEC) spoke to Onward Christian Magazine about faith healing and healing miracles.
“No healing can be accomplished without faith in God, who is almighty to save. (Zephaniah 3:17) Jesus said to the woman who touched the edge of His garment in order to be healed, “Your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Mark 5:34.
“God is just as mighty to heal in the times we are living in now. “For I am the Lord, I do not change.” Malachi 3:6. The same power is available through Him now as it was in the days of old.”
Prophet Bruce Edwards of Kingdom Empowerment Church (KEC) has a growing church in Bulawayo, and he says his ministry focuses on the gospel basics and as such he believes that God is still actively healing those who exercise faith in Jesus Christ.
“Healing is part of our ministry we pray for the sick and many who have come seeking healing from God’s hand and have exercised faith have indeed been made whole.”
Indeed, much has been said about the new wave of churches sprouting everywhere, but. Prophet Bruce Edwards believes that every good thing has a shadow. “We have Prophets of God, and true servants of God in today’s world and just as the bible says there will be false prophets, so it is indeed, where the light shines, a shadow is cast, but we must focus on what the light is illuminating rather than the shadow cast.”
“I belong to a Bible believing church (KEC), we are rooted in the very basics of scripture and the fundamentals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can rest secure in faith that God, who is the God of miracles, hears our prayers – even our prayers for healing. He is an almighty God – not even a sparrow falls to the ground apart from His will.”
“We are ministering the gospel of healing and transforming lives in Bulawayo, KEC is fast growing because people are seeing the authentic power of God and the miracles wrought through prayer and faith in this church.
Today’s church has been soiled by those who masquerade as servants of God, yet, they practice that which is not consistent with scripture. But I shall not dwell on that, my mission is to preach about Christ, teach about faith in Jesus Christ, heal the sick and help the widows and orphans in our midst.”
“Faith healings are indeed biblical and that is the template that we follow in KEC and many are coming for physical and spiritual healing in our church.”
“There are a lot of examples of healing in the Bible. But are these miracles just a thing of the past? Does God hear our prayers for healing? What does the Bible actually say about healing?
What inspires us and informs and should strengthen your faith as a Christian is what the bible says in this regard let me share a few verses here;
A man who had had an infirmity for 38 years, picked up his mat and walked away a healthy man. (John 5:1-17)
Jesus put His fingers into the ears of a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment. He sighed, said, “Be opened,” and his ears were opened and he could speak plainly. (Mark 7:32-35)
Peter said to a man who was paralyzed for eight years, “Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Acts 9:32-35. Then he arose immediately.
Prophet Bruce Edwards said “we learn from the scriptures that through the hands of the apostles/servants of God many signs and wonders were done among the people … And believers were increasingly added to the Lord.” Acts 5:12-15. The mandate has not changed those who are true servants of God are still doing exactly that in the name of Jesus Christ.”
